About Me

My background in psychology, health and social care, together with my personal experience of coping with serious illness using self-hypnosis, has given me a passionate interest in the power of the mind in relation to well-being on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. Since qualifying as a hypnotherapist in 2008, I have been working with a range of clients, including those with cancer, tinnitus, depression, trauma and anxiety and have been gratified to see the positive changes they have experienced as a result of the solution-focused hypnotherapy approach.

I co-founded and ran a successful UK-wide business in publishing, training and events in the health and social care field for over 16 years and have employed and coached many people. As a personal performance coach, I can now draw on this extensive experience, along with my hypnotherapy training, to offer highly effective ways of creating visions, establishing goals and making these a reality, whether in business or other walks of life.

I am an experienced trainer, writer and publisher of training materials. I have designed and delivered multi-media training materials, learning resources and courses for a wide range of corporate, public sector and voluntary organisations. I believe strongly in the importance of providing high quality opportunities for people to learn and grow, whatever their age, and enjoy the challenge of meeting people’s learning needs in inspiring and useful ways.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with cancer and for the next year underwent difficult but successful treatment. During my recovery I decided to develop a tool for patients with serious illness to address a gap in the provision of emotional support within the health services. In 2008 Lifting Your Spirits: seven tools for coping with illness was published by the Janki Foundation for Global Healthcare and in 2010 this was followed by The Heart of Well-being: seven tools for surviving and thriving.
